Community Living Scheme plans approved!
Planning permission for the Community Living Scheme in Treberth was refused earlier this year. However, on 12th August the plans were approved for the 58 self contained apartments to go-ahead.
Phil Toms, Chief Executive of Newport Housing Trust said The Trust worked hard with Council Officers to resolve the issues which lead to the plans being refused originally.
Head of Operations
David Torrington has become the newest member of the Newport Housing Trust team after he was successfully chosen as the new Head of Operations after a very competitive interview process.
NHT provides new service delivery
Newport Housing Trust has recently agreed a three year contract to provide Asset Management services to Aelwyd Housing Association.
Newport Housing Trust’s vision is to be a key provider of innovative housing related services for the over 60s.
Aelwyd Housing Association are a charitable organisation, with a Christian ethos, managing over 240 properties housed in schemes located across South Wales. The tenants of Aelwyd are predominantly over the age of 55.
Trust mourns the loss of its Chair
Newport Housing Trust writes this with deepest sympathy, the Chair of Newport Housing Trust, Lindsay Al-Nuaimi passed away recently.
The staff and the Board of Directors are truly grateful to have known and worked with Lindsay. Her kindness, selflessness and strength made a real impact on the quality of life of so many people.
Lindsay gave so much energy and time to the Trust and to the wider community. Her efforts, ideas and compassion have made a real impact on people of all ages.
She will be sorely missed.
